Hi! I've updated the post with some more information and analysis from a USA blog about ACTA if you like. I'm not familiar with the Orphan Works bill but from all the research I've done, the USA's intellectual property laws are nothing to aspire to. I'll check it out.

And don't tell anyone about my infrared floodlight... It's my ticket to early retirement!

Thanks for stopping by, I've had a skim over your blog and it's pretty interesting stuff... As a matter of interest, what band do you manage? I try and keep my ear to the ground for new indie bands growing up here - not hard when you work next to the Kings Arms ;)

Hi Chris, just stumbled over this article of yours and, wow, love your idea regarding the infrared floodlight in theatres! haha Geez, what the heck are they thinking - breaking up the movie or soundtrack...! How ridiculous - I'm totally with you on that - if you're going to watch a pirated movie, then a few breaks in the soundtrack will not stop that. Again, what are they thinking?!!

Hey I haven't heard about that ACTA - but sounds like something that I need to look into further. Thanks for th e link - I will check that out! I had heard about an law that they are trying to push through in the US regarding copyright - that would affect the rest of the world - called the Orphan Works bill - if you want to check it out you can here: http://nz.youtube.com/watch?v=CqBZd0cP5Yc (I personally think with that one, people are just jumping on the bandwagon of being against it - but not fully understanding it). I have read about it - I personally don't agree with it, and wouldn't like to see it go through - but if it does, I don't think any harm will come of it.

Ok, well I have gone on enough already! haha But, just to introduce myself, I am the manager of a NZ rock band that are setting themselves up to conquer the music world and get their name out there. I am blogging all the details on their way towards the goal... not an easy task - but it tells it how it is: the good, the bad and the downright ugly! haha
